I greatly enjoy creating compelling photographs of subjects engaged in their natural, real-life environment: doing what they do, being who they are, looking how they look. Experiencing their life and lifestyle. This is my “editorial lifestyle portraiture” signature style, and it is the centerpiece to most of my client portfolios. Likewise, I’m particularly drawn to creating portraits in the wild of nature or in outdoor urban environments, but I’m equally comfortable in the studio (and have taught many studio lighting workshops for other professional photographers and photography enthusiasts).

Based smack-dab in the middle of the US, I’m a half-day drive or one-hour flight to much of the Midwest, or I can be on either coast by noon. Let’s get to work.

Professional Headshots
My headshots tend to be more environmental than plainjane-background. After all, in our professions we don’t just stand around in front of a canvas taped to a wall, now, do we. Let’s make it real. Model Portfolios and Comp Cards
Having worked extensively in the advertising and “major print” editorial publication markets, I’ve photographed thousands of model images over the years. I’m agency-approved and ready to help either experienced or aspiring models to create their portfolio and agency comp cards at reasonable rates.

PR & Event Photography
Many years ago, I was hired to provide event coverage for a non-profit fundraiser sponsored by outdoor clothing company Patagonia. It was great fun, and word-of-mouth from that event led to opportunities to photograph events for a variety of high-caliber private clients, corporations, non-profits, competitions, higher education institutions, and foundations. I continue to offer this service. While this has never been my core focus, I really like interacting with groups, and my friendly and collegial personality allows me to produce documentary coverage that speaks for itself. I am available for documentary event coverage at this time.
